Welcome to My Newsletter!
This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship
When I was a kid and went to the movies, I always wanted to sit down close to the screen so it filled one corner of my eye to the other. I wanted to be totally immersed in the movie I was about to see.
I achieved this by sitting in the center of the 10th row.

So, for this newsletter, imagine I’m sitting in the 10th row and writing personal notes (or even texts) to you as I share my thoughts and opinions about the movies, music, and books that are overlooked, undervalued, or just unknown to most people.
Of course, in addition to the above, I’ll write about many of my favorite films, books, and music because I love these too much not to talk about them.
I’m also going to write about some of my other obsessions like collecting movie posters, pic sleeve 45s, and old film magazines.
And, I’ll share my adventures making indie films in Nebraska and indie film in general with you too.
Finally, I also hope to include interviews with other creative indie writers, musicians, and filmmakers in future editions of this newsletter that I hope you’ll find interesting.
Let’s Build a Community!
But more than just sharing my writing, my goal with this newsletter is to foster a sense of community here on substack.
I welcome and encourage readers to respond and comment on the articles I publish. I would love to eventually have open chat sessions here too.
And, if you’re an indie writer, musician, artist, filmmaker, or other type of creator, feel free to contact me about your latest project. If I feel it’s a good fit for this newsletter, I’ll write an article about it or interview you for a future post. You can contact me at: jwfields2001@gmail.com.
How Often Will Subscribers Receive Notes?
My goal is to publish a newsletter at least once a week. However, once in a while life gets in the way, so if I fall behind, I’ll make it up by publishing more the following week. For now, all of my newsletter posts will be free.
Thank you in advance for subscribing and reading Notes From The 10th Row.
Yours,
Jim

Sitting in the 10th row is brilliant. I’ve always been one to sit in the last 3rd of the movie theatre myself. Looking forward to exploring your writing.
